Yep, it's already been here and guess what I hate to say it, but there is more coming*sigh* We're getting our third storm front with snow today. I just pray it warms up drys out a bit( we needed the moisture) so we can dig our potatoes and carrots! Yep, we got caught! Typically we don't dig spud until closer to the end of Oct. This is to early I pray it isn't a sign of what's to come this winter*gulp*
Blessings,
Kelle

Yup! It's coming this way as well! My large tomatoe pile, like yours, is still laying under a tree and really, really, needs to be brought in. After that nice September, its going to take awhile to get used to this!

Marci,

If you come up for a visit, I promise we would heat up the wood stove for you! So far we haven't had to use it.

Kelle,

We have yet to dig our potatoes and carrots as well. There's just so much to do yet, and with all the rain we've been having there hasn't been a good time to do it. At least the tomatoes are having a chance to ripen in our unfinished main floor. I need to check on the pumpkins and squash, though, as they are in an outbuilding.

Camille,

Since I'm originally from MN, you'd think I'd get used to this type of weather! The older I get, the harder the transition each year to cold weather.

We, too, need to dig our potatoes and carrots. I like to leave them in the garden as long as possible but may have left them too long. I might have to go out and dig them in the mud (YUCK!). We have been using our wood stove for over a week now. I guess we are wimpy! But it sure is nice in here.

Hi Kimberly,

We stored our pumpkins and squash in one of our outbuildings, and Jim told us this morning the interior got down to 32 degrees last night. We'll see if they froze or not. The boys are out hauling everything into the house -- now the mess will be in here! And, it's snowing!!!

Who says "global warming" is bad. We sure could use some around here! We just got our tomato plants out yesterday. I was hoping for some more warm weather so they could ripen on the vine, but that sure isn't happening. We get to sit in the cold for Carl's game tomorrow night! OH Boy!!

Hi Lynette,

I can relate ... It was always "fun" in high achool to play in the pep band at football games in Oct. -- feeling like your lips were going to stick to the mouthpiece!
