Our Lake Will Never Be the Same

Yesterday a friend of ours called to tell me to look out our front basement windows. There he was, talking to me with his cell phone in his speed boat on our lake! He had put his boat in at our neighbor's place. Our two families are the only homes on this lake.
As far as we know, there has never been a motorized boat on the lake. We borrowed a canoe and used that one summer, the boys have used a little twelve foot wooden boat they built while we were still in the city, and two summers ago Andrew built a raft and that has been poled out to a deeper spot on the lake -- but no speed boats.

You never know what's going to happen around here!

The lake is so beautiful, Lynn. What a great place to live.

That can be a good thing or a bad thing. :) Hope it is a good one for your sake.

Hopefully it isn't catching, one speed baot isn't bad, but a lake full of them*sigh*

Lynn, are all those trees, around the lake, dead wood or have they all just lost all of their leaves already?
Blessings for your weekend,
Kelle

Thanks, Kimberly. We love it up here.

Marci, I am not too happy with having motorized boats on the lake. I enjoy the quietness, and they were VERY noisy. Hopefully he won't be doing it very often. We have loon families on the lake, and I hope the wildlife won't be chased away.

Hi Kelle,
We had beautiful fall foliage when we were able to take aerial photos, but just 2 days later we had terrific winds and now all of our leaves are down. It sure didn't take long. The boys have had quite a few lawn jobs lately!
